1. Set Up Alerts in Streamlabs
Before adding alerts to OBS, you need to set them up in Streamlabs.
- Log in to Streamlabs: Go to Streamlabs and log in with your Twitch account.
- Navigate to Alert Box: In the dashboard, click on “Alert Box“ from the left-hand menu.
- Customise Your Alerts: Customise your alerts for different events (e.g., follows, subscriptions, donations). Adjust the appearance, sound, and animation as desired.
- Save Settings: Once you’re satisfied with the customization, click “Save Settings.”
2. Copy Alert Box URL
In the Alert Box settings, you will see a widget URL at the top. Copy this URL.
3. Open OBS Studio
Launch OBS Studio on your computer. If you haven’t installed OBS Studio yet, download and install it from the official website.
4. Create a New Scene (Optional)
If you want to keep your alerts organized, create a new scene:
Click the “+” button in the “Scenes“ box.
Name your new scene and click “OK.”
5. Add a Browser Source
To add the alert box to your scene:
Select the scene where you want to add the alerts.
Click the “+” button in the “Sources” box.
Choose “Browser” from the list of source types.
6. Configure the Browser Source
Set the width to 800 and height to 600 (these values can be adjusted based on your preferences).
Click “OK” to add the browser source.
7. Position and Test Alerts
Move and resize the alert box on your stream preview to your desired position.
To test the alerts, go back to Streamlabs and click the “Test Widgets“ button. Trigger a test alert for each type (follow, subscription, donation, etc.) to ensure they appear correctly in OBS.
8. Save Your Scene Collection
Once everything is set up and working:
Go to “Scene Collections“ in OBS and click “Save“ to save your current scene collection.
