1. Prepare Your Emotes
Ensure your emotes are ready and saved on your computer. Twitch requires three sizes for each emote: 28 x 28 pixels, 56 x 56 pixels, and 112 x 112 pixels in PNG format with a transparent background.
3. Access Your Creator Dashboard
Click on your profile picture in the top-right corner of the Twitch homepage.
From the drop-down menu, select “Creator Dashboard.”
4. Navigate to the Affiliate/Partner Settings
In the Creator Dashboard, click on the three horizontal lines (hamburger menu) in the top-left corner.
Go to “Preferences” and then select “Affiliate” or “Partner,” depending on your status.
5. Open the Emotes Section
Under the “Affiliate” or “Partner” tab, find and click on “Emotes.”
6. Upload Your Emotes
Click on the “Upload Emote” button.
For each emote slot, upload the three required sizes (28 x 28, 56 x 56, and 112 x 112 pixels). You can also use Twitch’s auto-resize feature to upload one size and have Twitch resize it for you.
7. Name Your Emotes
Assign a unique code for each emote (e.g., “Kappa” or “PogChamp”). This code is what viewers will type to use the emote in chat.
8. Save Changes
Once you’ve uploaded and named your emotes, click the “Save Changes” button.
9. Wait for Approval
Twitch reviews all emotes to ensure they meet community guidelines. This process can take a few hours to a few days.
10. Verify Your Emotes
Once your emotes are approved:
Go to your Twitch channel and type the emote code in chat to ensure it appears correctly.
By following these steps, you can easily attach emotes to your Twitch channel, enhancing viewer interaction and adding a personal touch to your stream.
