1. Download and Install OBS Studio
Ensure you have OBS Studio installed on your computer. If not, download and install it from obsproject.com
2. Obtain Your Overlay Graphics
Prepare the overlay graphics you want to use. These may include webcam frames, alerts, chat boxes, or any other graphical elements.
3. Set Up OBS Studio
Open OBS Studio on your computer.
4. Create or Open a Scene
In OBS Studio, scenes are used to organize different elements of your stream. Create a new scene or select an existing one where you want to add your overlays. Click the “+” under the “Scenes” box to create a new scene and name it accordingly.
5. Add Sources for Your Overlays
Click the “+” under the “Sources” box within your scene. Choose the appropriate source type based on your overlay:
Image: Use for static images like webcam frames or background graphics.
Media Source: Use for animated graphics like webcam frames or background graphics.
Browser: Use for dynamic overlays such as alerts, chat boxes, or stream widgets powered by websites.
Text: Use for adding text overlays such as stream title or social media handles.
6. Configure Each Overlay Source
For Image Sources: Browse and select the image file from your computer. Adjust its position and size within the scene as needed by dragging and resizing it.
For Media Sources: Browse and select the media file from your computer. Adjust its position and size within the scene as needed by dragging and resizing it.
For Browser Sources: Enter the URL of the website providing the overlay (e.g., stream widgets or alerts). Adjust the dimensions and position within the scene.
For Text Sources: Enter your text, customize the font, size, and color. Position it within the scene.
7. Arrange and Layer Your Overlays
Drag and drop sources in the “Sources” box to reorder and layer them within your scene. This controls which elements appear on top or behind others.
8. Save Your Scene
Once you’ve positioned and configured your overlays, click “OK” or “Apply” to save your scene settings.
9. Preview and Adjust
Use the “Preview Stream” button to see how your overlays appear without going live. Make adjustments as necessary.
10. Go Live on Twitch
Start your Twitch stream to broadcast your overlays along with your gameplay or content.
